The Detroit Tigers are the American League Central Champs after a 6 to 3 win over the Royals last night in Kansas City!  The Tigers are returning to the playoffs, but it's hard to believe how much time has passed since the last time they were in the playoffs for consecutive years.

The Tigers advance to the postseason in consecutive years for the first time since 1934-35.  Homeruns by Cabrera and Peralta helped lift the Tigers over the Royals last night.

The Tigers have the worst record among AL Division champions, so they will open up at home this Saturday.  There are still tickets available for the first game of the ALDS at Comerica.
