The Flint City Derby Girls are getting ready for their second home game of the year, and on top of putting on a great show, they will be raising money for a great cause.

The Derby Girls are using their upcoming double header on April 28th to raise money for the YWCA Safehouse.  Check out the details from their press release below.

The toughest ladies in Flint will compete in their second home game of 2012 against North East Ohio Roller Derby Girls (NEO).The first bout of the evening – the Grand Funk Hellcats versus NEO Audio Assault – will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 28 in the small arena at Perani Arena & Event Center, 3501 Lapeer Road in Flint. Doors will open at 5pm for seating. The second bout, will feature Flint City Derby Girls A Team versus NEO Rock n' Roller Girls.

Tickets cost $12 and can be purchased at the Perani Arena or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available at the door for $15. Admission is free for children 12 and younger with purchase of an adult ticket (limit - two children).

The league will collect much bath towels and wash cloths for the YWCA Women's Safehouse. Fans who bring in these supplies will receive one raffle ticket per item for a chance to win prizes from local vendors and establishments.
