The 2017 NBA All-Star Game will have a very unique introduction. The Roots and Jidenna are among the major players involved in a musical that will be performed before the game on Sunday (Feb. 12), according to Billboard.

The musical, titled Evolution of Greatness, follows the historical path of the NBA from the 1950s to present day. DJ Jazzy Jeff, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels of Run-D.M.C., Hamilton star Daveed Diggs and actor Michael B. Jordan are also part of the production.

Hip-hop will play a major role in this weekend's festivities as DJ Khaled is set to perform on Sat. night before the three-point contest. Outside of the NBA's official gigs, Cash Money Records is also hosting a bunch of events in New Orleans over the next few days. Those down in the Big Easy for the All-Star Weekend will have a chance to see the Big Tymers perform and attend a 20th anniversary celebration for Cash Money.

Jidenna's participation in this special musical for the All-Star Game comes at a great time in his career. The Wisconsin rapper's long awaited debut The Chief is scheduled to drop tomorrow (Feb. 17). Getting to perform on national television will serve as timely promotion for Jidenna just a few days after his album's release. Fans can pre-order The Chief now on iTunes and get instant access to four of the LP's tracks, including the single "Long Live the Chief."
