The Weeknd's new project My Dear Melancholy has garnered up a huge buzz amongst music fans, and it shows with the project's first-day music streams.

According to The Verge, within 24 hours of the XO singer's project release, it was streamed over 26 million times on Apple Music. One of the EP's standout tracks, "Call Out My Name," was reportedly streamed 6 million times in the first day as well, which fans believe addresses The Weeknd's breakup with Selena Gomez last year.

While the numbers came in extremely high on Apple Music, his streams on Spotify were a bit less, as "Call Out My Name" earned 3.5 million plays within the same time frame. This may come as a surprise, being that The Weeknd originally guided fans on social media to stream the project on Spotify when it dropped. The company also reportedly has over 120 million more users than Apple Music as well.

It's going to be a big year for The Weeknd following the release of My Dear Melancholy, who is slated to perform at multiple music festivals including the 2018 Outside Lands Festival, the 2018 Coachella Music and Arts Festival, as well as the 2018 Panorama Festival.

Congratulations to The Weeknd on the major feat.
