Flint is celebrating the re-opening of two city parks after the United Way organized some major upgrades to the equipment.

According to the United Way press release, Hasselbring Park is going to have a ribbon cutting celebration today (August 15th) at 4pm.  Hasselbring is located in Flint, on Home Ave and Dupont. The park will be open for kids to play immediately following the ribbon cutting.

The second ribbon cutting will happen Friday afternoon at Broome Park.  There will be a community celebration at Broome Park on Friday (August 18th) from 8am till Noon.  Volunteers will be putting the finishing touches on the park, and the ribbon cutting ceremony will happen at 4pm.

Both parks were restored thanks to an initiative that the United Way put into place, along with the help of community volunteers.

This is just the start of the project though, and there is a lot more work to be done.  If you would like to volunteer to help, you can get more information from the United Way here.
