The on-going debate of who's the Top Five or who's the greatest rapper alive or who did it best was reignited earlier this month when Billboard released their list of the Best Rappers of All Time. The Game has already responded with a list of his own, and now Tyga shares some thoughts on the selections with LA's Power 106. [In descending order, the Billboard list named Lil Wayne, Kendirck Lamar, Ghostface Killah, Lauryn Hill, Andre 3000, Nas, Rakim, Eminem, Jay Z, The Notorious B.I.G.]

Tyga's biggest gripe with the list is that it skews too old, saying, “My thing is I think that you can’t put Kendrick on there and not put—See, it’s different because it’s like I just feel like this is a lot of older people. So, it’d be like the greatest rappers of all time if this came out [in] 2005. You gotta give Drake his credit. You gotta give J. Cole credit. As far as new…It’s their magazine. And that’s their opinion. Another magazine [would] put out a different opinion.”

The comments are somewhat surprising considering Tyga and Drake's history of hostility. Drake had even rapped "You need to act your age and not your girl's age" on "6PM in New York" off If You're Reading This It's Too Late in reference to Tyga's then girlfriend Kylie Jenner. In the interview, Tyga continued to hold Drake in high regard as he went on to note that any rapper who discovered other talent deserves their due.

“Jay Z, when you look back at it, he gave us A, B, and C. He gave us Kanye. Kanye gave us Common, Big Sean. Birdman gave us Wayne, Juvenile. Wayne gave y’all me, Drake, Nicki. And then so on. You know what I mean? So, it’s like who’s really contributing to the game when it’s all said and done,” the rapper said.
