Travis Mills, a 2005 Vassar High graduate, lost his arms and legs Monday after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan.

As of Thursday, Mills was in critical condition in a hospital in Germany, and now the community that helped raise him are rallying to support him.

Travis and his wife Kelsey, along with their four month old daughter, are the focus of a support effort that will take place in downtown Vassar today.

Volunteers will meet at 5 pm this evening by the fountain on Huron Avenue in downtown Vassar to tie ribbons as a show of support for Mills and his family.

WNEM TV-5 put together this video about the event.
