Wale is in an L.A. state of mind, debuting his new mixtape Summer on Sunset last night on DJ Khaled's We The Best Radio show on Apple Beats 1.

The East Coast rapper crosses the nation, giving fans a Cali vibe for the new project with songs like "LAX," "Days by the Pool," "Valentino" and "Women of Los Angeles." Sunset of course refers to Sunset Boulevard, a famous street on the west and south side of L.A. known for its active nightlife and scenery.

The mixtape features 17 new tracks. The D.C. MC doesn't do it on his own employing a mixed bag of guest features including, Ty Dolla $, Cam'ron, Raheem DeVaughn, Eric Bellinger, The Dogg Pound, Victoria Monét, Jazz Cartier, WWE’s Jim Ross and Phil Ade. The project is hosted by DJ Quicksilva.

For the cover, Wale chose an animated artwork which features a collage of pictures of things that can be related to life in La La land.

This is something to hold fans over until Wale’s forthcoming fifth solo LP, S.H.I.N.E. (Still Here Ignoring Negative Energy) which is slated to drop later on this year. The MMG rapper dropped the first single off the project "My P.Y.T." a couple weeks back.

That will be the followup to his 2015 LP release The Album About Nothing which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when it dropped last March, pushing almost 90,000 copies in its first week on shelves.
