The Pleasant Valley Road bridge over I-96 will have to be rebuilt after a truck smashed into the overpass this week.

The truck was about four inches too tall according to Mdot, and that's all it took to bring down a road sign and cause major damage to the overpass.

MDot posted some pictures on Twitter after the scene was clear, showing the extensive damage done to the bridge.

While East bound 96 is back open now, the overpass will be closed until the damaged part can be demolished and replaced. If your commute takes you in that area, expect some major backups when the repair work finally starts.
