Whitney Houston’s Funeral Arrangements Released

Whitney Houston's funeral will be noon Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.  The family's pastor just made the announcement at Newark's Whigham Funeral Home.

The family has been struggling to keep this a family event, and that is reflected in the choice of location.

Whitney’s mother, Cissy Houston, reportedly made it clear that her daughter's funeral would take place inside of a church, rather than a larger venue such as the Prudential Center or the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, as previously speculated.

It hasnt been announced, but it is safe to assume that the funeral will be for invited guests only.

Details about a public memorial have not been announced as of this moment.  Some impromptu memorials have sprung up around the country in honor of Whitney.
