Tickets to the second and third round NCAA tournament games at The Palace of Auburn Hills are hard to come by.  Most of them have been sold already, and the ones you can find cost an arm and a leg.  What if I told you that you didn't need a ticket though?  What if you could get into The Palace to watch the teams practice for free today?

If that sounds interesting to you, then I have great news, you are in luck!

The games start Thursday with Michigan State and Valparaiso at 12:15pm, and continue all day.  Michigan takes the court against South Dakota State in one of the final games of the evening at 7:15.

Having both teams play a virtual home game is great for fans that can afford the hefty ticket price, but it also has advantages for those of us who don't have tickets.

The Palace is hosting open practices for all of the teams today, and it's free for everyone!  This gives fans a chance to check out their favorite teams as they prepare for the tournament run.  All you have to do to attend is park (for free) and enter through the West Atrium.  The full practice schedule runs down like this:

noon-12:40 p.m. — Valparaiso
12:45-1:25 p.m. — South Dakota State

1:30-2:10 p.m. — Michigan State

2:15-2:45 p.m. — Memphis

4:25-5:05 p.m. — Michigan

5:10-5:50 p.m. — Virginia Commonwealth
5:55-6:35 p.m. — St. Mary’s, Calif.
6:40-7:20 p.m. — Akron
