Jordin Tootoo isn't a hockey superstar, but he helped make a young fans' trip to a Grand Rapids Griffins game, an experience he will never forget.

Tootoo has spent time with the Red Wings this year, and was sent down to the Griffins to finish the year.  He noticed a young fan calling his name during the pregame skate, and gave him a high five.

Jordin then skated over to the boy and gave him his stick.

The smile that takes over the boys face, is the type of smile that can make everything seem better.  The pure joy that pours out of his smile is contagious, and all because a player took the time to say hi.  It's just another reason why sports matter.
