Young M.A. got a chance to perform on a national stage last night (Nov. 5) and took advantage.

Alicia Keys performed her song "Blended Family (What You Do for Love)" on The Tonight Show, but instead of bringing out A$AP Rocky, who appears on the album version of the track, Keys brought out M.A. to rock an original verse about her own family situation as a youth.

"Growing up I had a little sister, older brother/And for us a father figure was a single mother/My daddy was locked up, my mother was knocked up/And every now and then my brother's father would pop up/But I considered him dad/Because he would give me basically anything that I asked/Fresh kicks for the summer, I would crease 'em and scuff 'em/Goose coat for the winter with a new pair of butters (Ooouuu)/He treated me like I was his/A single mother, no daddy, that's just how we lived," she raps.

The Brooklyn rapper's stock is swiftly rising. Her single “OOOUUU,” which has been remixed by every rapper under the sun, dipped into the top 10 of Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and has over 70 million plays on YouTube.

The Red Lyfe rapper also recently landed a spot in the newest Beats By Dre ad alongside Nicki Minaj, Travi$ Scott and Michael Phelps.

XXL recently chopped it up with M.A, where she talked about "OOOUUU" cosigns and bringing New York City back.
