UPDATE: After insisting 21 Savage's tickets to the Grammy Awards were being withheld from the rapper's mother, the Slaughter Gang rhymer's co-managers have now revealed the tickets have been released.

Hours after making the claim and receiving media attention, Justin “Meezy” Williams tweeted, "People shouldn’t have to openly tweet things for people to do right ... you should do right in the dark and the light."

Savage's other manager, Kei Henderson, confirmed the tweet adding, "Now suddenly the Grammy’s are releasing the tickets to his mother. That’s wild."

ORIGINAL STORY: The 2019 Grammys was supposed to be one of 21 Savage's shining moments, as he was slated to perform at the annual event before he was arrested last Sunday (Feb. 3) and accused by ICE of being in the country illegally. Apparently, the rapper's mother would like to attend the event in his place but has not been given the tickets by the award show to do so.

On Sunday (Feb. 10), 21 Savage's manager Justin “Meezy” Williams accused the Grammys of withholding the tickets. "Sooo Grammys won’t release savages tickets to Savages mom to go to Grammys on his behalf ... that shit crazy smh ..." he tweeted, adding, "We won’t be going to Grammys ... the politics and shit is ridiculous ...."

21 had a spot in the performance lineup for the 2019 Grammys that was nixed following his untimely detainment. The rapper remains in ICE custody awaiting a court case to see if he will be allowed to stay in the States. ICE claims 21 is a citizen of the U.K. who entered the country on a non-immigrant visa 15 years ago and failed to leave when his time was up.

The rapper's legal representation thinks there may be ulterior motives behind his arrest. "There continues to be no legal reason to detain Mr. Abraham-Joseph for a civil law violation that occurred when he was a minor, especially when people in his exact situation are routinely released by ICE," they stated.
