We're back at it again today (Sept. 20) with this week's episode of XXL's Hip-Hop Moments of Clarity podcast, dedicated to deciphering the biggest stories in hip-hop. This week, our hosts tackle 6ix9ine's testimony, new music from Gang Starr and J. Cole and the possibility of a new Kendrick Lamar album.

Holding it down as the host this week, XXL's Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Satten, XXL's Executive Editor John Kennedy and veteran hip-hop journalist Shaheem Reid are leading the conversation. While this is the lineup for this week's listen, the hosts are subject to change as the news cycle changes.

One of the biggest stories grabbing headlines this week is 6ix9ine's testimony against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods at trial, which has been trending since the court proceedings began on Tuesday (Sept. 17). With Tekashi's statements underway, the 23-year-old more recently named Jim Jones as a member of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. Audio surfaced of Jones speaking with Nine Trey member Jamel "Mel Murda" Jones, stating that a "shorty" needed to be "violated." The Dipset rapper is reportedly speaking about 6ix9ine.

While Jones' alleged association with the Bloods is now part of 6ix9ine's racketeering case, yesterday, Cardi B was also brought into the mix. News spread that 6ix9ine named Cardi as a member of the Bloods gang, however, that was false information circulating the internet. Ultimately, 6ix9ine's testimony has sparked millions of memes on Twitter and Instagram.

Other conversations in the podcast include Gang Starr releasing their first single since 2003—the late Guru and DJ Premier's new song "Family and Loyalty" features J. ColeKanye West's new album, Jesus Is King, and the prospect of a new Kendrick Lamar project.
