The 2016 Soul Train Awards will kick-off later this month with a cluster of respected hip-hop talent celebrating the old school and respecting the new. Hosted by soul queen Erykah Badu, the show is set to include appearances by Ma$e, Anderson .Paak and D.R.A.M.

The Soul Train Awards usually serves us a nice gumbo of soul, hip-hop/soul and touches of gospel with the undeniable infusion of classic Soul Train-style crowd participation. BJ the Chicago Kid as well as Ro James are also set to make an appearance.

The show will take place at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and will include a special tribute to veteran singer Brandy and her long-time collaborator, Teddy Riley.  Luke JamesNew Edition and Woody McClain will also hit the stage as presenters.

As far as Soul Train Awards nominations, Drake secured 12 nods including Video of the Year for “Hotline Bling” as well his feature on Rihanna’s chart-topping single “Work.” Kanye West snagged a nomination for his work on The Life of Pablo, in the “Album/Mixtape of the Year” category. The Trap/Soul crooner, Bryson Tiller and The White House favorite, Chance the Rapper is also up for an award for Best New Artist.

The Soul Train Awards will air on Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. E.T.
