Beyonce: Adele’s ‘Funny As Hell And Her Comebacks Are Legendary’
Beyonce and Adele -- arguably two of current-day pop music's most powerful forces -- have nothing but the utmost respect for each other, and it's been sufficiently well-documented in the past. But Beyonce took things next-level in a recent Vanity Fair profile, hinting that she and Adele are friendly enough to riff insults off each other.
“It is so easy to talk to her and be around her," Beyonce told the publication, which ran an in-depth piece on the 25 singer in its December 2016 issue. "She’s funny as hell and her comebacks are legendary. The most beautiful thing about Adele is that she has her priorities straight. She is a gracious woman and the most humble human being I’ve ever met.”
Adele returned the kind words later in the profile, saying she's admired Beyonce since she was eleven years old.
Will this lead to a Beyonce/Adele duet in the near future? Neither party has ruled out the possibility. Adele even commented on rumors of a feud between the two singers back in 2015, denying there was any ill will between the pair.
“There’s a rumor going 'round that I turned Beyonce down, which I would never be so disrespectful to do,” the “Turning Tables” singer said in an interview with Beats 1, according to E! News. “I’d never disrespect her like that. Obviously, like, Queen Bey ’til the day I die."
Adele has also spoken in the past about her first encounter with Beyonce, saying her nerves nearly stopped the pair from meeting.
“I was about to meet Beyoncé and I had a full-blown anxiety attack," the 21 singer told Rolling Stone back in 2011. "Then she popped in looking gorgeous, and said, ’You’re amazing! When I listen to you I feel like I’m listening to God.’ Can you believe she said that?”
Head over to Vanity Fair to read their entire profile -- which touches on the current U.S. election, her stage fright, her battle with postpartum depression and more -- with Adele.
