C-Murder’s Appeal Rejected by Supreme Court

The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected rapper C-Murder's appeal today.

According to the Associated Press, the New Orleans native requested the appeal related to his life prison sentence. C-Murder was sentenced to life in prison in 2002, for murdering a 16-year-old fan, Steven Thomas in a Louisiana nightclub.

Born Corey Miller, the rapper's appeal is based on the claim that another person, who is now deceased, was responsible for the death of the teen.

C-Murder was convicted of the crime twice, according to AllHipHop. The first time was in a trial in 2003, which was then overturned on appeal. The 41-year-old went on trial a second time in 2009, and was convicted again.

One of the 12 jurors involved in the 2009 trial revealed that there was pressure to make a decision, which led C-Murder to appeal again to the U.S. Supreme Court after questions once again surfaced of whether he was actually given a fair trial.

The Supreme Court Justices were set to review his case in November 2012, but instead the decision was delayed to this week.
