Protestors filled the streets of New York City after the announcement that NYPD officer, Daniel Pantaleo, for choking Eric Garner to death.

Thousands of protesters took their cause to the New York City streets last night, bringing traffic to a standstill.  They chanted 'I can't breathe' as they marched through Midtown Manhattan or laid in the street, end to end on the city's West Side Highway in a protest.

They also clogged Lincoln Tunnel, staged 'die-ins' in the middle of Grand Central Station and crossed the Brooklyn Bridge on foot.  The protests were civil. There were only about 30 arrests by mid-evening.

President Obama even took time to comment on the decision not to indict the policeman who killed Garner.

The Michael Brown killing has made a huge push for police to wear body cameras, but the entire Eric Garner murder was caught on tape.

In a very weird twist to this already tragic story, the man who filmed the murder was actually indicted for allegedly carrying a weapon.

Yes . . . the cop that killed Garner on tape was not indicted for anything, but the man who filmed the whole thing was!

I honestly don't know what to say about this.  I don't understand how something like this happens, and I'm not just referring to the obviously botched indictment.

I don't understand how people continue to lose their lives over such inconsequential things.  People are quick to point out race, police power issues, and a host of other things.  I really think the problem is bigger than all of that.  Living in a society where actually killing someone is a real option makes no sense to me.  Call me naive if you like, but I just have a hard time wrapping my head around it.

I don't want to post the video of Eric Garner getting murdered, but I feel like I would be doing an injustice if I did not.  So if you would like to watch it, you can below.
