All systems are go for Danny Brown's new album. The unorthodox Detroit rapper and former XXL Freshman shared new details on his anticipated LP in an interview with AU Radio.

The rapper got especially candid about his more confident creative process. “I mean, I used to feel like that [rushed] when I was in a time of my life where I maybe wasn’t as financially stable as I am now.” he explains. “It was always like, 'I want to work, I want to do stuff. I’ve got to get some money.' At this time, I’m alright, so I was able to take my time. I was able to do what I wanted to do and make the best possible product I could make. I’m so happy and I can’t wait; I’m so excited for people to hear what I’ve been working on for the past few years.”

Danny gave background on how the album came together and why he chose to team up with producer Paul White.

“I recorded a nice chunk of it in London with him [White]. A lot of things I had in the beginning that I probably wasn’t so confident about, when I was trying to experiment and figure it all out, I’m now confident in," he told AU. "I’m confident in doing what I want to do and I know what I want my music to sound like. That’s where I’m at with it right now; I feel like a seasoned vet, I guess! I know what I want to do and I just went for it with this project.”

Back in March, the album was reportedly finished. Dee Luciano shared on Twitter that he played the finished product for The Alchemist on March 6, to which the producer gave a stellar co-sign, writing, "Fire fire fire fire!!!" Danny also sat down with Fact Magazine in that same month to say that he was fully "in the captain’s chair" for the new LP.

Danny also talks about how though he experimented heavily with different sounds on Old, he's not doing so on the next album. "I’ve been making music quite a bit, so I feel like I’ve found my sound since," he said. "This album is not necessarily about me experimenting so much, but more so about me just doing what Danny Brown does. It’s just my sound, you know? A lot of those ideas I used to have before, I’ve just built on those ideas and made them bigger. They’ve finally come full circle.”

While there's still no release date announced for this album, the Bruiser Brigade leader is set to take the stage at Lollapalooza this July so here's hoping he'll perform the fresh material by then.
