Dr. Dre’s Daughter Gets Accepted to USC, Rapper Jokes About Admissions Scandal
Dr. Dre's daughter just got accepted to the University of Southern California and the hip-hop legend wants the world to know it had nothing to do with the college admissions bribery scandal that recently rocked the news.
On Saturday night (March 23), Dre posted a photo of himself and his daughter posing with her acceptance letter to USC. Dre is all smiles in the photo. "My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own," he captioned the pic. "No jail time!!!"
He of course is referring to news of the college admissions scandal that broke earlier this month. The conspiracy is alleged to have taken place between 2011 and 2018. The scheme was reportedly spearheaded William Rick Singer, a college admission counselor who is purported to have accepted bribes totaling upwards of $25 million from wealthy families who paid him to get their undeserving children admitted into prestigious universities. Over 50 people have been named as participating in the scandal including Lori Loughlin of Full House fame.
While Dre may be scandal free, he does have a very good relationship with USC. Back in 2013, Dre and Jimmy Iovine gave $70 million to the school “to create a degree that blends business, marketing, product development, design and liberal arts.” Officially called the U.S.C. Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation, students have since praised the program.
