If you are unfamiliar with ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, you're living under a rock.  The sports analyst is at home for a week suspension for his domestic violence comments.  He has since apologized and accepted his punishment.  What are your thoughts?

Smith was giving his commentary on the ruling of Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice suspension for choking his fiance unconscious.   He stated,

"Let's make sure we don't do anything to provoke wrong action ... we got to also make sure that you can do your part to do whatever you can do to make, to try to make sure it doesn't happen again."

One of his colleague took the opportunity to voice her opinion against him and cause an uproar.  Smith has since apologized and been on record understanding how his statements can be taken the wrong way.  Whoopi Goldberg came to the First Take host defense saying,

“If you make the choice as a woman who’s 4 foot 3 and you decide to hit a guy who’s 6 feet tall and you’re the last thing he wants to deal with that day and he hits you back, you cannot be surprised!”

I believe that domestic violence is wrong on all levels.  No one should every hit another person unless it is in self defense.  I am not sure of my stance on the issue because prior to Smith's remakes, I would agree with him.
