Fabolous ran into some serious trouble on Wednesday night (March 28), after he was accused of assault by girlfriend Emily Bustamante, also known as Emily B.

According to a March 29 report from TMZ, the Brooklyn rapper turned himself in to Englewood, N.J. police around 8:30 p.m. after Bustamante called the cops and told them Fabolous hit her. After turning himself in, the rapper avoided spending time in jail but was booked for aggravated assault and making a terroristic threat.

While Fabolous has yet to issue a statement about the alleged incident, the rapper did post something on his Instagram Story earlier today. "2018 tryna break my heart," he wrote along with a broken heart emoji.

Fab has been pretty quiet as of late, last dropping a video for the song "Theme Music" in February. The rapper and Jadakiss had been promoting their Friday on Elm Street album, also dropping horror-inspired visuals for "F vs. J."

XXL last caught up with Fab in October, when the rapper was featured on one of the covers for XXL's 20th anniversary edition. At the time, Fabolous spoke to us about his longevity in hip-hop and chalked it up to his love for the genre.

"This was something that was a hobby to me," he said. "[Hip-hop] was never really something I looked [at like], this is going to get me and my whole family rich and famous. It was something that I loved to do, so it started as that and even after I got successful, I still had love for it. I still love doing it. I still love the process. I still love the reaction of your fans."
