You know Rudolph, Frosty, and Buddy the Elf, but do you know about these five great underrated Christmas specials?

Listen, I'm not going to try and rank all of the great holiday specials that you can watch right now. There is no way to try and convince someone that Buddy the Elf is more iconic than Ralphie in his pink bunny suit. Who am I to say that Frosty is less entertaining than Rudolph? The fact is that they are classics, and once you've achieved that status, then you basically just get to sit back and enjoy it.

The problem with the classics though, is that once people have cemented something in as a classic, they have a hard time letting new shows in. No matter how good they are, many people have a hard time accepting that there is no cap on how many classics there can be.

So hear me out on this one . . . instead of defending the classics tooth and nail out of fear that they may be replaced, just think about it as adding new friends to the party.

This may sound contradictory, but I am a Christmas traditionalist at heart. I probably would have been one of the people arguing against the new shows if it weren't for my kids. They've introduced me to a few new specials, that I was 100% positive I would hate. The only problem was, that I didn't hate them. I actually really liked them!

The list below is a mix of shows that I watched as a kid that got snubbed, and new shows that many people are unwilling to give a fair shake to. I suggest you carve out some time to check them out, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
