On Friday (June 20), the 2019 XXL Freshman Class was unveiled and, as expected, it has generated a lot of reactions from fans on social media. Now the world of hip-hop has chimed in.

This year’s picks include Philadelphia’s Tierra Whack, Houston’s Megan Thee Stallion and Largo, Md.’s Rico Nasty, Charlotte, North Carolina’s DaBaby, Atlanta’s Gunna, Seattle’s Lil Mosey, Suitland, Md.’s YBN Cordae, Compton’s Roddy Ricch, Jacksonville, Fla.’s YK Osiris, East Saint Louis, Ill.’s Comethazine and the 10th Spot winner, Los Angeles’ Blueface.

Several rappers, including some who have graced previous Freshman Class covers, have jumped on Twitter and Instagram to praise the 2019 cover stars.

Responding to YBN Cordae's Instagram post featuring the new Freshman cover, Chance The Rapper, who was part of the 2014 Freshman Class, offered up some lofty praise for the young rapper. "Strong possibility that you are part of the best freshman class so far," Chano wrote. Meanwhile, T.I. chimed in and wrote, "This is the dopest class in a min."

Kamaiyah, a 2017 XXL Freshman Class alumni, saluted the women who made history on this year's cover. "Shout out to @XXL for putting 3 females on the freshmen cover history is made that’s player af," she wrote on Twitter.
