With fame comes a lot of perks, and, apparently, having your ID on newsstands everywhere is one of them. On Wednesday morning (March 28), singer Halsey revealed that her boyfriend G-Eazy used the Spring 2018 cover of XXL Magazine, which features the Bay Area artist on its cover, as one of his forms of identification after he lost his wallet in the airport.

"Gerald lost his ID and he’s trying to use the cover of @XXL as part of his additional identification to get through airport security I’m so annoyed," she wrote in a tweet earlier today. A short time later, Gerald revealed that the whole thing worked, retweeting Halsey's post and writing "It worked."

A short time later, the folks at TMZ documented the moment on an episode of their series, TMZ on TV. In one of the funnier moments, a show host notes that it's crazy the magazine ID worked, especially considering it doesn't even bear the rapper's real name. Once again, the perks of fame.

Months removed from dropping his latest album, The Beautiful & Damned, G-Eazy continues riding a serious wave of momentum. The project moved a combined 122,000 equivalent album units in its first week, and since then, he's continued his winning ways. Doesn't look like he'll be stopping them any time soon either.

Check out the story of G-Eazy's impromptu I.D. for yourself in the tweets below. You can see TMZ's coverage of the moment in the Instagram post beneath that.
