Hostess Is Out Of The Twinkie And Cupcake Business For Good

The people behind Twinkies, 'Hostess Brand', is going out of business for good as a result of a bakers strike.

According to CNN, 18,500 workers will lose their jobs as Hostess closes all of its factories across the nation. In a statement from CEO Gregory Rayburn, he said:

"We deeply regret the necessity of today's decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike"

 

The blow to the economy, and the lives of all the people that will lose their jobs are the most immediate concern.  But in the years to come we will all find ourselves asking a younger generation, "What do you mean you've never had a Twinkie before?!"
