The emails disguise themselves as official Prime subscription notices. The messages falsely claim that your Prime fee is increasing and may include a cancel subscription link.

The Problem With This New Scam Attempt?

Once you click on the link, you will be taken to a false login page that disguises itself so that users enter their information. Once you enter your information, those hackers gain full access to your Amazon account, including payment methods.

This could potentially enable unauthorized charges and even identity theft. The problem is, the scammers designed this email to look exactly like an official notice from Amazon, which is costing people a lot of money

What You Can Do To Protect Yourself

  • Never click on any suspicous emails. If you get one, you should go directly to Amazon.com or use your app.
  • Confirm an alerts. Any real warnings from Amazon will be in your "Message Center". If you don't notice one. It could be a scam.
  • Report, you should report any weird emails you get to Amazon.
  • Activate two-step verification, which just adds extra security to your account.
