Every year thousands of vehicles are stolen in Michigan and throughout the United States.

Today, we're going to look at the 10 most stolen vehicles in the state of Michigan.

You would think in this day and age car companies would come up with something more to defend against the theft of newer vehicles. Yet, here we are in 2023 and criminals can still outsmart those big companies. It's true (sort of), the most stolen vehicle in Michigan is a 2020 model. It must be an easy one to snatch because there were 1,148 stolen in 2021.

We can't blame it entirely on the manufacturer as car owners are usually just as much to blame, if not more.

The list below has yet to be updated to 2022 but I'm sure most of it will be the same as not much changed from the prior year.

Overall, pickups were the most frequent target, accounting for 14% of the roughly 1 million passenger vehicles stolen in 2021.

You may feel that there is nothing you can do to avoid having your vehicle stolen.
