At the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center, one dog’s search for a forever home has stretched 1,000 days. Sharron, a sweet-natured pup, has spent over 2.5 years in the shelter, missing out on three Christmas mornings and three birthdays without a family to call her own.

Described by her favorite "treat lady" as having a "sad face" whenever passersby ignore her kennel, Sharron has faced an endless string of missed opportunities. Despite her extended stay, she remains a loving and loyal companion, waiting patiently for her turn to find a home. According to the Center's Facebook, while Sharron may be a bit nervous around unfamiliar dogs and initially wary of strangers, those who take the time to get to know her will discover a dog full of affection and charm.
