A Michigan news anchor at WDIV in Detroit is gaining national attention due to an on-air blooper, or perhaps just a 'slip'?

Media folks for the most part always have it together, it's their job. So on that slim chance that something does not go as planned during a live shot or report - we eat it up.

Case in point, WDIV Local 4 anchor Demond Fernandez had a slip of the tongue during a recent traffic update.

Instead of saying McNichols, as in the road in Detroit, Fernandez said 'McNipples'.

I don't think the mispronunciation is blatantly obvious. Some viewers may not have even noticed the error. Even I had to play it three times to hear it.

That said, one viewer saw it, heard it, and posted a video of the mishap on Reddit. I tried to find the video on YouTube, but unfortunately, I could not.

You can see the video here.

Shout out to Demond Fernandez for keeping his composure like the true professional he is.

Trust me, mistakes happen. I know firsthand. I have screwed up on the air (every jock has), I have goofed up during live events, and once I introduced a band by the wrong name.

So, what did we learn today?

The lesson here is to be prepared for slowdowns or backups near McNipples in Detroit, and that we all make mistakes.
