How Much of Michigan’s Cash Is Tainted with Cocaine and Feces?
Have you ever had someone tell you to wash your hands after handling money? Well, after reading this article, you'll take that advice seriously from now on.
We've always been told that money is the dirtiest thing we handle daily, but you won't believe just how contaminated it is.
For those who didn't know this was really a thing, prepare to have your mind blown. You're about to find out just how dirty our money truly is. You're about to go cashless.
According to Market Watch, our cash is a blend of cotton and linen, making it a great spot for bacteria to grow and thrive for weeks. Experts say that money (cash) can transfer live flu viruses for up to 17 days. While that may seem a bit messed up, we haven't even gotten to the gross part yet.
The five most disturbing substances that scientists have found on your money include cocaine, food, dog saliva, acne-causing bacteria, and, the icing on the cake... poop.
Hang on, it gets worse as we break it down.
Cocaine
Market Watch reported that 80 percent of our bills are contaminated with cocaine. Whether from drug transactions or users handling the cash, we’ve all come into contact with drug-tainted money.
Poop
More than 90 percent of our bills have traces of feces, thanks to people who don't wash their hands. Yes, there are likely poop particles on the cash you're carrying around with you right now.
