Omega Mart would be an awesome thing to see come to Michigan.

For those that don't know, Omega Mart is an art installation that is very interactive to visit. Upon first entering Omega Mart, it seems just like a regular grocery store that you would stop at on your way home from work...until you start to look a little closer.

Visitors to this art installation are encouraged to explore everything. From opening doors to finding secret passages. At first, the entire store looks weird itself, but as you explore deeper, it only gets weirder.

This particular Omega Mart that I am talking about is located inside Area 15 in Las Vegas. On a recent vacation, my friends and I decided to check it out and it was well worth the price of admission. We didn't realize that there is an actual story behind the art installation either. For an extra $3 per group, you receive a card that will keep track of your journey as you discover the real story behind Omega Mart.

As the story goes, you are a new employee of Omega Mart and as you continue on with the journey, you learn the hidden story of the story. It's basically a really cool mix between being a detective and working your way through an escape room.

The Omega Mart art installation in Vegas is actually just one of four under the Meow Wolf Umbrella. They also have The Real Unreal in Grapevine, Texas, the Convergence Station in Denver, Colorado, and the House of Eternal Return in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We have already begun planning another trip and are going to explore The Real Unreal in Texas soon.

I really think that Michigan could benefit from a Meow Wolf art installation. Grand Rapids and Detroit would be perfect locations. Have you been to any of these places? What did you think?

Just to give you a little taste, here are some of the photos from our recent trip. This in no way will do Omega Mart justice though. You have to check it out for yourself the next time you are in Vegas. The cooler above was just one of the passages into the hidden areas.

During the interactive journey, you also get to explore the "employee areas" as well.

Once you start working your way through the hidden passages, you start to feel like you are in another world.

This was one of my favorite rooms. It was very trippy and there actually only four real head sculptures in the room. It just looks super weird because of all the mirrors and paint designs.

This skeleton was so detailed and cool looking.

LOOK: Abandoned Flint High School With Amazing Wall Art

I was kind of astounded at the stained glass here. It was in amazing shape considering the rest of the building.
