Michigan Woman Accused Of Faking Camp For Disabled Kids For Cash
This is the lowest of lows.
According to Fox 2 Detroit, a woman in Oakland County is accused of going around pretending to raise money for a summer camp for disabled kids…except the camp doesn’t even exist.
Wow. Lady, how do you sleep at night?

She apparently walked into Bravo’s Coney Island in Pontiac with what looked like a legit flyer. She walked in with a pitch that sounded polished. Like, really polished.
And it worked.
The owner fell for it hook, line, and sinker…especially after she brought faith into the conversation. He ended up donating $150. She told him she’d be back the next day. Shockingly…she never showed.
When they called the number on the flyer, it led to a business in Ohio that had no idea what was going on and said they’d already been getting calls like this.
So yeah…Bravo’s wasn’t the first to fall for it.
That’s when it all clicked. Total scam.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is now tracking the woman and says a misdemeanor charge is coming, but they also believe there could be more victims out there who don’t even realize they’ve been duped yet.
How To Avoid Donation Scams In Michigan
If someone approaches you asking for donations, especially with a story that really moves you, take a second to verify it. Look up the organization yourself, don’t just trust a flyer, and be really cautious if they’re pushing for cash on the spot.

I get it though…in the moment, it can feel real, and you just want to help.
Scams are bad enough…this one’s just flat-out gross.
