Most people have certain words they always seem to struggle pronouncing. For me, it is feminism and digitally.  At least, those are the first two that come to mind. I am quite sure there are more.

FOX 8 reports that two of the most commonly mispronounced words nationwide are Worcestershire and niche.

Without further ado, the most mispronounced word in Michigan is packzi. The correct pronunciation is POONCH-kee.

I admit that I often say “PUNCH-kee,” even though I know it is incorrect, as soon as I say it out loud.

Another pure Michigan food staple that has multiple pronunciations (in my opinion) is pasties. Is it PASS-teas or PASTE-ees?

Proper pronunciation aside, one thing most Michiganders can agree on is that pasties are undeniably delicious.

I suppose it all traces back to the age-old 'tomato, tomahto' debate, highlighting how minor differences, like pronunciation or perspective, can spark endless discussion.
