Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis, has passed away at the age of just 54.

The news came late Thursday night after reports circulated during the day that the singer/songwriter had been rushed to the hospital after being after suffering a medical emergency at her home in Calabasas, California. There was speculation that she had suffered cardiac arrest.

Her mother released a statement saying,

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother, Priscilla Presley, said in a statement, according to The Associated Press. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

Lisa Marie joined her mother just two days ago at the Golden Globe Awards supporting the movie Elvis and its star Austin Butler.

Presley was born in 1968, almost 9 months after her parents Elvis and Priscilla were married. Lisa Marie was everything to her famous father up until his death in 1977 when Lisa Marie was only 9 years old.

Lisa Marie was one of the most well know celebrities in the world and gained even more attention when she married the late legendary pop star Michael Jackson in 1994. It was her second marriage and lasted less than two years.

Lisa Marie was a mother to four children. She sadly lost her son, Benjamin Keough on July 12, 2020, at the age of 27 due to suicide.
