Several popular ice cream and yogurt brands have been recalled in Michigan and other states, raising concerns as summer kicks into high gear. If you’ve stocked up on frozen treats, now is a good time to double-check your freezer.

FDA Yogurt Recall – What You Need to Know

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of multiple flavors of Bonya-branded yogurt parfaits due to the presence of almonds in the granola portion of the product.

"People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products," the FDA stated in a release.

The recalled yogurt products were distributed to retail stores in Michigan and across the United States. They come in 12-ounce, clear plastic cups with an expiration date of May 5, 2025.

FDA Announces National Ice Cream Recall

On Wednesday, the FDA announced a recall of nearly 17,000 tubs of ice cream and frozen yogurt, affecting 22 different products — more than 50,000 gallons of frozen treats distributed nationwide.

The recall involves ice cream products from Wells Enterprises, Inc. due to possible contamination with foreign material or plastic. These products were sold in three-gallon tubs, suggesting they were likely intended for food service establishments like restaurants and cafeterias.

According to Newsweek, all affected products have 'best if used by' dates ranging from March to October 2026.
