You're about to meet a Michigan man who has gone from living in his car to becoming a millionaire. And before you ask, no, he did not win the lottery.

Mario Kelly is the creator of an Artificial Intelligence (or AI) product that you may soon come in contact with if you have not already.

"I have something called 'Believe in A.I.' You can have a conversation, it answers the phone for you, it makes appointments," he said.

Mario Kelly's Backstory

Kelly tells the TV station he's always believed in "pouncing on every opportunity that comes his way."  But even with that determination, he found himself unemployed after parting ways with a Ford plant in Detroit and working for Jacobson's.

"At the same time, I was living in my van, I was homeless and divorced," he said. "I’m from the east side but manifested that I wanted to live in Rosedale Park. So I would go there every night and find another home to lay in front of."

From 'Down and Out' to 'Up and Coming'

Kelly explains that he simply looked for opportunities along the way in order to pull himself up by the bootstraps. He started a cleaning business with $27 in cleaning supplies, morphed it into a staffing agency, and seized an opportunity to create an AI product when he saw an opening.

His book, 'The $27 Millionaire,' is available on Amazon.
