This had to be one of the slowest 'High-Speed' chases in history as thieves hauling construction equipment on I-75 led cops into the city of Detroit.

Not All Police Chases Are Created Equal

If OJ Simpson taught us one thing in 1994, it's that not all police chases happen at a high rate of speed.

The incident Tuesday evening (9/27) as two suspects allegedly stole a trailer with a heavy construction hauler from the DTE Energy plant in Monroe Michigan. When police officers caught up to the pickup truck that was hauling the trailer, they attempted to make a traffic stop but were unsuccessful.

The chase continued through the city of Monroe onto northbound I-75 into the city of Detroit according to this report from WJBK-TV.

Two Suspects Attempt to Flee on Foot

Police used stop sticks to puncture the tires of the pickup and the construction trailer.

The driver of the vehicle hauling the trailer lost control and crashed into a median. Two suspects jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to run away.

One suspect was caught immediately, which leads us to believe this was yet another example of a not-so-fast high-speed chase. He's been charged with receiving and concealing stolen property as well as fleeing and eluding.

The other suspect reportedly ran into an industrial area in Detroit and is still on the lam as of this morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
