There’s a definite appeal to all of these recent movies featuring grown women getting up to the kind of antics we’d normally expect from the college-aged sorority girls from those crazy recruitment videos. Director Malcolm D. Lee, of The Best Man and The Best Man Holiday, is giving us a Bridesmaids-style caper with an entirely black cast in Girls Trip, and from the looks of the new trailer, it could be a similar hit. This is Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith we’re talking about.

In Girls Trip, four besties decide to take a vacation down to the Big Easy for the annual Essence Festival, a music fest launched in the ’90s to celebrate Essence magazine, a publication geared primarily toward black women. The worries of everyday adulthood are beginning to rear their many ugly heads, and these ladies just want one last ride where they can let loose and have a good time. But, since this is a comedy, things don’t always go as planned. They have some work to do with Jada Pinkett Smith, for one thing, who wants to go out on the town in an outfit more suited for a peasant child in a school play. Fun is fun, but maybe think twice before trying to zipline after you’ve had much, much too much to drink.

Girls Night also features the talents of Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish, and hits theaters July 21.
