Jaden Smith is set to play a young Kanye West in Showtime's new TV series Omniverse.

According to The Hollywood Reporter's story posted today (May 1), Kanye West is developing an anthology in which the "Goku" rapper plays a younger version of 'Ye in an alternate reality. Showtime's Ominverse is a limited half-hour anthology series that's dedicated to “examining the many doors of perception.” The first season aims to explore ego through the alternative reality of Kanye.

The upcoming series would be West's first-ever television production credit as he joins the likes of Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, Westbrook Studios and writer Lee Sung Jin to produce the first season. West will serve as executive producer alongside Smith, Braun and Jin as well as James Shin, Scott Manson and Miguel Melendez.

As Smith continues to broaden his horizons in music, film and now television, Kanye aims to center his attention on other projects like his Yeezy brand clothing and sneakers, and possibly a new church. According to a story People published Thursday (April 25), Kanye is considering launching his own church where he can present his music and spirituality under one roof.

His love for religion and fashion haven't stopped his musical endeavors, though. During his Sunday Service set at the last weekend of Coachella, 'Ye premiered his new song "Water," which may or may not land on his Yandhi album.

Clearly, 'Ye is a busy guy so we'll see if his church happens or his new album drops. As for his upcoming TV series, there are no other details surrounding his Omniverse project.
