On JAY-Z's latest album, 4:44, the Brooklyn rapper opens up about his marriage to Beyoncé, and hints at his infidelity. While Hov revealed a lot about himself on the project, there was still more to be said.

Now, during a sit-down with the T Magazine, the rapper opened up about the pain he caused his wife. "You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something ’cause most people can't see themselves," Jay said. "The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone's face that you cause, and then have to deal with yourself. So, you know, most people don't want to do that. You don't want to look inside yourself. And so you walk away."

Luckily for the two, they were both able to get through their problems using music as therapy. "We were using our art almost like a therapy session," the rapper said. "And we started making music together."

According to Hov, Beyoncé's Lemonade was further along at the time, so her album dropped first instead of the joint project they were working on together. "We still have a lot of that music," he said. "And this is what it became. There was never a point where it was like, 'I'm making this album.' I was right there the entire time."

But while JAY-Z was there during the recording of Bey's project, and she was there for 4:44, the two were still in a difficult place. "And both very, very uncomfortable, but... the best place in the, you know, hurricane is like in the middle of it," said Jay. "We were sitting in the eye of that hurricane... But the best place is right in the middle of the pain."

Elsewhere in the interview, the "Bam" rapper also discussed his relationship with Kanye West, revealing he talked to the producer just the other day. "I love Kanye," he said. "I do. It's a complicated relationship with us."
