John Oliver Asks Why Columbus Day Is Still A Thing [Video]

In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue, and did a whole bunch of really bad things.  So why are we still celebrating Christopher Columbus?

I could go on and on in this post about the misconceptions surrounding Christopher Columbus, but John Oliver and his team do a perfect job of it.

I know that Michigan, and a few other states have chosen not to recognize Columbus day any longer, but does that matter since it is still a Federal holiday?
