Kanye West Drops Out of 2019 Coachella Performance Over Stage Set Negotiations
The celebrity news site reports that negotiations between the Grammy-nominated producer and festival organizers fell apart over logistics of the stage. Insiders said that ‘Ye told organizers that he wouldn’t perform on a traditional 60x40 stage because it was “artistically limiting.”
Goldenvoice, which produces the annual music festival, would budge on changing the stage to fit Kanye’s needs. So, in the end, Yeezy decided to pass on the opportunity to perform.
The Kanye source told TMZ that the 40x60 stages archaic and not satisfactory for the G.O.O.D. Music leader whose stage shows are often groundbreaking and huge spectacles.
Rumor has it that Goldenvoice is now looking at acts like Childish Gambino, Rihanna and Justin Timberlake to potentially fill the void.
This news comes a couple days after Kanye once again voiced his support for the polarizing President Donald Trump. During a lengthy, stream-of-conscious Twitter rant, Yeezy made it clear that he remains #TeamTrump all the way. That MAGA hat isn't coming off any time soon.
"One of my favorite of many things that the trump hat represents to me is that people can’t tell me who I should do because I’m black. That’s real racism 🎤," he tweeted. "From now on I’m performing with my mutherfucking hat on 🐉🐉🐉."
