Kelis served up some soulful tunes at the BBC 6 Music Festival in Manchester on Saturday (March 2). The R&B singer serenaded the crowd with some new material as well as old songs at the event.

Dressed in body-hugging gold metallic gown and heels, the Harlem songstress performed a funky set with her backing band that also included a brass section. Kelis kicked off her show with a Nina Simone cover of 'Feeling Good' before diving into the classic like 'Milkshake' and 'Trick Me.'

For the first time, the 34-year-old artist performed some new songs from her upcoming album 'Food.' Kelis sang her latest single 'Jerk Ribs,' as well as 'Friday Fish Fry,' 'Rumble' and the throwback love tune 'Cobbler,' in which she hits an ear-piercing high note at the end.

Kelis’ upcoming LP 'Food' is due in stores on April 22. The album has been describe as dramatic with live instrumentation.
