Kendrick Lamar has just broken a new record.

Chart Data confirmed on Sunday (Sept. 15) that Kendrick's 2012 major-label album debut good kid, m.A.A.d city has officially become the longest-charting hip-hop studio album in Billboard 200 history. The feat breaks the record previously held by Eminem's 2002 album, The Eminem Show.

Though Eminem's 2005 project Curtain Call: The Hits is actually the longest-running album on the Billboard Hip-Hop charts, it is only a compilation album and not a studio effort. That project currently sits at 461 weeks on the charts, while The Eminem Show is at 357 weeks and now good kid, m.A.A.d city sits at 358 weeks.

In related news, Kendrick reportedly recently welcomed a child with his fiancée, Whitney Alford. According to a report from US Weekly, Alford gave birth to a baby girl on July 26, making for the first child for both. K. Dot previously spoke on his love in an interview with The Breakfast Club back in 2015.

"I’m loyal to the soil," Kendrick said in the sit-down. "At the end of the day you want to always have real people around you period. Everybody that’s been around me has been down since day one and I can’t change that. I don’t change for nobody. I always show respect when respect is being given and people that’s been by your side, you supposed to honor that. That's how you stand up."

Looks like it's been a somewhat quiet but great year for Kendrick thus far.
