Law and Order: SVU is not shy about using controversy because they're reportedly taking a stable at the Trayvon Martin and Paula Deen cases in an upcoming episode.  This year they tackled the Chris Brown and Rihanna fight.

The Executive Director Warren Leight has been known for going through newspaper headlines looking for racy stories. This time around he tackles two high profile cases that had everyone stirred up.

Leight even spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the cast reading the script.

“When the script was published it became a litmus test for everybody here,” Leight said. “It was really interesting to see people read that script and have different interpretations about who did what and whether or not they deserved prison for it. It was fascinating.”

The Executive Director is already predicting that the episode will divide people on the stance of racial profiling and stop and frisk policy.  You don't want to miss this episode because it sounds like everyone will be talking about it.

I am a fan of the show but not sure how I feel about how soon the show will tackle the Trayvon Martin and Zimmerman case.  I know I will be in front of the television for this episode.  Will you sit down and catch this episode or will you pass?  Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
