Mac Miller Drops Three New Songs “Small Worlds,” “Buttons” and “Programs”
After a run-in with the law and breaking up with Ariana Grande, Mac Miller is back with three new songs, "Small Worlds," "Buttons" and "Programs," where touches on the recent events in his life.
On "Small Worlds," the Pittsburgh rapper flows over a smooth, soulful beat from Tae Beast as he raps, "I know I probably need to do better/Fuck whoever/Keep my shit together/You never told me being rich was so lonely/Nobody know me, oh well/Hard to complain from this five star hotel."
As for the two other songs, Mac teams up with producers Cokebeatz, CuBeatz and Cardo and offers fans a glimpse at his life following an eventful month. "I run around with open scissors/They taking pictures/I could lose my head, they grow instead," Miller raps on "Buttons."
While "Buttons" and "Small Worlds" feature soulful, classic hip-hop beats, "Programs" finds the Pennsylvania native spitting over a trap beat from CuBeatz and Cardo. "Everybody want a headline/I don't got nothin' to say/'Cept I'm comin' back with the freshness/You know I love makin' an entrance/Now now, don't get defensive," Miller raps.
Following his split from Grande, the singer shared details about the alleged toxic relationship, claiming that parts of the relationship were "hard" and "scary" while they were together.
"I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course), but shaming/blaming women for a man's inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem," Grande said. "I didn't share how hard or scary it was while it was happening but it was."
