Mary J. Blige is reportedly cooking up a new album slated for release later this summer. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is said to be collaborating with Kanye West on the project.

During an interview with the Arbiters of A&R podcast (via Rap-Up), MJB's A&R plug, Eddie Fourcell, revealed the project is now undergoing the final mixing phase and expected to release sometime late August or September. Blige has joined forces with other hitmakers including Hit-Boy, DJ Camper, and B.A.M on the album. This would be her first collaboration with Kanye West.

“I think this is gonna be the first time that the world sees a Mary J. Blige and Kanye West [collaboration],” teased Fourcell.

The 45-year-old singer released her last studio album, The London Sessions in November of 2014 after moving to London to experiment with a new sound. The album primarily featured musical talents of the U.K. with contributions from British electronic garage-house duo Disclosure, Sam Smith, Emeli Sandé and long-time collaborator Rodney Jerkins. This time around, putting a Yeezy spin on things should make the sound even more “experimental." All hail the veteran hit-makers.
