The talk of raising the speed limit in Michigan has been around for a while, but now it is close becoming a reality.

The Michigan House of Reps voted in favor of raising the speed limit to 75 mph on Michigan freeways.

The speed limit would also raise to 65 on state highways.

This has been a fairly controversial movement, and even the House vote only passed by 3 votes according to Mlive.

Now the speed increase heads to the Senate for approval, but most people think that the Senate will vote no to the bill.

The fact is that everyone drives at least 75 on the expressway right now anyway.  I think most people are afraid that if the speed limit is set at 75, it opens up the door for 80 or 85 to become the new normal.
